A pop-up natural wine bar & bottle shop in an old stable

Wednesday 15 + Thursday 16 May 2019 | South-east London | 5pm-10.30pm both nights

Address: Natural Born Wine HQ, 7 Canning Cross, London SE5 8BH (a very short walk from Denmark Hill station)

May is party time in Italy, with festivals up and down the country celebrating everything from Pinocchio’s birthday to risotto, snake handlers (!) and the really lovely sounding ‘Wedding of the Trees’. It’s also a time of year when Italian vineyards not normally open to the public, throw open their cellar doors for a huge wine celebration called Cantine Aperte towards the end of the month.

Like Italy in May, we’re throwing open the ‘cellar‘ doors of Natural Born Wine HQ - a 200-year-old stable in south-east London, not normally open to the public - for a celebration of Italian natural wine.

On the menu we’ll have a mixture of new and old favourites, including the brand-new Rozzo (Sangiovese) by ‘the shepherd who makes wine‘ Giovanni Mesina (Vini di Giovanni), and perhaps a new sparkling wine made with a very rare grape by those unicorn winemakers Matteo and Annalisa Furlani (Cantina Furlani). Saluti!
